Hello Phil. Felt like I should check out your website and thank you for your works. I came across Proof Positive while stopping at a Target to buy beach chairs for me and my wife while on our way to Rosarito, Mexico for a couple of days following our wedding. While I do read while on business travel or vacation, I have been sporadic at best. I purchased Proof Positive the first week of Oct. and since then I have read all twelve of your books (no self-control). Anyway, thank you for the entertainment and I look forward to the next publication. Also, by any chance were you a swimmer? You seem to include a swimming reference in most of your books, which is not that common. Happy holidays, take care, and thanks again!Swimmers, and/or water polo players, pull chicks!

Dear New Guy: I'm glad you're enjoying my books. My next, "Executive Privilege" comes out in late May, 2008 and I'm half way through the one that follows. I've been swimming for exercise since the late 1970s but I didn't compete. My kids did, though. I was a wrestler in High School and College. We didn't have a pool at the school. Phil

Thank you very much for the reply (even if you are Phil's publicist), I've never been on a message board or anything remotely similar so I must say I was excited to see your response, although, my wife thinks I am a total dork.

I was a competitive swimmer from a young age through college and finished my career at UCSD. My Dad and Grandfather were wrestlers in school and if I hadn't swam I definitely would've wrestled. I had a few friends that wrestled and they were all tough as nails (some deceptively). I know it is a long shot but the swimming community is relatively small so if your kids and I happened to compete at the same time we may have crossed paths (or lanes). I graduated high school in Souther Cal in 1997.

Anyway, I will look forward to "Executive Privilege" and please feel free to email me a copy and I will proofread it free of charge since your kids were swimmers too. I hope I haven't worn out my welcome with this novel. Thanks again and have a great New Year!Swimmers, and/or water polo players, pull chicks!
