I just finished "The Associate". Wow! Bodies all over the place and loose ends all over the place, too, but all told an entertaining yarn.

Margolin is a lawyer. Ask him to explain what he wrote on page 268: "What you said to her is admissable as an exception to the hearsay rule because you're the defendant".

Dear bradvines2: Glad you enjotyed the book. As to the hearsay issue, I didn't have time to check my books on evidence, but hearsay is an out of court statement introduced to prove the truth of the matter asserted. Generally, hearsay is not admissible, but there are exceptions. One exception allows the introduction of out of court statements to prove the intention of the speaker. Daniel's statement can be introduced to show he intended to meet with Briggs. Phil
