| Lori: First, do not look for an agent until you are absolutely certain that your book is finished and as good as you can make it. Second, I got an agent in a bizarre way that would be of no use to you. Third, the three ways I know to find an agent is (1) to ask a friend or teacher or acquaintance who has one for an introduction; (2) there are books in the library that list agents and their clients and give hints on how to contact them; (3) if you live in Oregon or nearby The Willamette Writers hold a conference every year where they invite agents. For a small fee you can meet with one. It is worth it. This year's conference is in August. Other Writer's conferences also do this. The one is Surrey, B.C. is one I know of. Good luck. Phil |
